RocketPort uPCI SMPTE - Video Server Manufacturer

Challenge

Enable communication between video server and numerous video tape recorders (VTR’s) for television production studios. The video server manufacturer was looking for a specific SMPTE style connector and an effective solution to connect the VTR’s.

Technology Solution

They choose Comtrol's RocketPort uPCI SMPTE Multiport serial board as a key component to this solution. Comtrol's SMPTE board effectively connected all of their Sony peripherals to a single server. In doing this, they were able to simplify cabling and create a cleaner more organized control center.
